Mark Lancaster, Executive Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Mark Lancaster founded the Group in 1992, having identified the need for a high-level and comprehensive service and technology provider for the globalization of companies' content and products. He studied electrical engineering and computer architectures at Hatfield University before becoming a software design engineer at Satchwell Control Systems and Lotus Development Corporation and later became international development director at Ashton-Tate. He is responsible for the strategic direction and development of the SDL Group.

Matthew Knight, Chief Financial Officer

Matthew Knight took a BEng in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College in 1993. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and qualified with Deloitte in 1996. Matthew has extensive experience of the software and services industry and worked for Logica PLC, where he held a variety of UK and international roles - most recently Northern & Central Europe Chief Financial Officer.

Keith Mills - SVP, Global Solutions

Mr. Mills joined SDL in 1994. Previously he held senior positions with Lotus Corporation, where he specialized in the processes of software localization before moving to Ashton-Tate to manage their international software translation group.

Before joining SDL, Mr. Mills was Software Localization Engineering Manager at the relational database specialist, Informix Inc. Mr. Mills is responsible for ensuring SDL business units (both technology and language services) work effectively with their strategic clients for the successful deployment of SDL solutions.

Grant Johnson - Chief Marketing Officer

Grant joined SDL in 2013 from Pegasystems where he served as CMO.  He is a High Tech marketing executive with a proven track record building profitable businesses on a global basis, from early stage ventures to established billion dollar enterprises. He has in-depth expertise in all areas of marketing, including branding, demand generation, upsell/cross-sell, digital marketing, field marketing, product marketing, strategic communications, sales acceleration and the Web.   Prior to Pegasystems, Grant was Vice President of Marketing and served as an officer for FileNet (acquired by IBM).  Before that, he was Vice President of Marketing for FrontBridge, a SaaS-based email management vendor acquired by Microsoft. He also served as Director of Marketing for Symantec, with worldwide responsibility for the Norton brand.

Dennis van der Veeke, Chief Technology Officer

Dennis has a wealth of 22+ years of experience in the software development space. At Logica, Dennis headed up the Business Solutions unit which focused on Microsoft, Business Intelligence and Enterprise Content Management related business. At Exact Software, Dennis was the director of the Exact International Development organization based in Malaysia, Ireland and the Netherlands.  

In 2008, Dennis joined SDL as the CTO for the SDL Web Content Management Solutions division, as well taking the lead role to bring the various development teams together across the group. In November 2010, SDL appointed Dennis CTO of the SDL Group. 

Dominic Kinnon, CEO SDL Global Solutions Division

Dominic Kinnon joined SDL in 1997. During his time with SDL, Dominic has evolved his group from providing pure translation services to an organization that delivers high value, language related solutions to customers worldwide. As CEO for SDL Global Solutions, Dominic leads an organization of more than 1700 professionals across 34 countries.

Prior to SDL, Dominic worked within the petrochemical industry in Europe, the US and Middle East and subsequently spent a number of years in Business Consulting helping companies develop their management potential and improve their operational performance.

Dominic is also a trustee of the SDL Foundation that provides support for sustainable, structural development that improves the quality of life for disadvantaged communities around the globe.

Peter Smith, CEO SDL Consulting Division

Peter started his career in accounting, with organizations such as Ernst & Young. He founded a document management company providing data storage and retrieval solutions, before joining SDL in 1997 through the acquisition of Polylang, where he was Projects Director.

Previously co-CEO of SDL Global Solutions, Peter now leads SDL Consulting Group, providing strategic, business and technology consulting for key clients globally, focused on delivering Customer Experience Management solutions.

Jan Jaap Kolleman, CEO SDL Content Management Technologies Division

Jan Jaap Kolleman joined SDL on 1 October 2008. Based in Amsterdam, Kolleman is responsible for the strategic direction and the (product) vision of the SDL Content Management Technologies division. Based on the organization’s strong results and good customer relationships, he continues to focus on further increasing the growth, profitability and success for the SDL Content Management Technologies division.

Keith Laska, CEO SDL Language Technologies Division

As CEO, Keith leads the effort to drive significant growth and distribution reach of SDL’s innovative automated translation and language management technology to customers across the globe. 

Keith started his career with SDL in North America, and subsequently spent seven years on an international assignment as an executive in SDL's headquarters, building up global strategy and operations for SDL Language Technologies in Europe and Asia. He recently moved back to the US to head up the division’s cloud computing and online community strategy. Prior to SDL, Keith worked in senior positions in sales and engineering including technology and services startup translations.com in New York. He started his career as a French Instructor at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire.

Bob Hale, CEO SDL Campaign Management & Analytics Division

Bob Hale has over 25 years of direct marketing domain and enterprise software experience. Bob joined SDL through the acquisition of Alterian in January 2012, and is responsible for the Campaign Management & Analytics division within the SDL Group. Previously, Bob served as SVP Corporate Development, taking responsibility for Alterian’s mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Alterian, Bob owned Dynamics Direct Inc. an innovative enterprise email platform provider. As CEO of RioLabs, Inc., Bob established the company as a leader in the middleware technology space, after serving as President of idCentric, the Data Warehousing and Data Quality division of Firstlogic, Inc.(Postalsoft), now Business Objects/SAP.

John Song, CEO SDL Social Intelligence Division

John has 20 years of experience in the technology field and has been involved with more than 15 M&A transactions during his career. John started a social media intelligence company with a vision to providing social insight and foresight in compelling ways. Since then, the company has been acquired twice, including most recently by SDL in January 2012. As CEO SDL Social Intelligence, he remains committed to that same vision but now with a more global application. He is a thought leader in social media intelligence and believes that the social data set will continue to disrupt new and traditional markets.
