Over recent weeks, we have all had to deal with the impact and uncertainty that the escalation of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) global pandemic has brought to our societies and businesses. These are extremely challenging times for all of us, and our thoughts are with everyone directly affected by the current situation.
We see all our customers and partners as part of our SDL community, and we wanted to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to respond to the rapidly changing situation – not only to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of our employees and their families, but also to reduce any risk in the delivery of our content and language solutions to customers.

Business continuity is a key priority here at SDL and, as part of our plans, we have activated a global crisis response team, who are working with our leadership team to manage all impacted countries and regions. The measures we have put in place today are working to safeguard our people and minimize any impact to your business, so you receive the continuity, quality and support that you entrust to us.

Over the last few years, our IT team has built an orchestration platform with virtualized environments, storage and automation tools to help our teams and customers avoid any major operational disruption. With this, we are fully equipped to provide the service and responsiveness you expect across our global business. Last year, this strategy enabled us to operate during regional disruption in Paris (France), Santiago (Chile), Kaslik (Lebanon) and Hong Kong with no operational downtime. In more recent weeks, this has allowed us to successfully serve our customers in China with no downtime. We are now deploying the same strategy across all of our offices in order to maintain business as usual services to customers.

We are following the guidance of international public health bodies, such as the World Health Organization, as well as local government directives and, like many of you, have deployed measures to help minimize risks for all our employees, customers and stakeholders, including home working and virtual meetings, as well as eliminating all but essential travel. Today, we are fully operational across all our 38 countries and we are preparing ourselves to continue to adapt to ever-changing circumstances, making sure all our employees have online capabilities to continue to collaborate and serve you.

Finally, during these times of volatility, we will do all we can to help you continue your operations, and our teams are available 24/7 to address customers’ language and content needs and concerns. We will continue to remain open and transparent with you throughout this crisis, and will update our dedicated Coronavirus web page regularly with new information, so please bookmark this. We also encourage any customers and partners that need support to email / telephone your account manager or support representative. You can also email us on puttingyoufirst@sdl.com or visit our Online SDL Community for help and advice.

From all of us at SDL, we hope you stay healthy over the coming weeks and months, and do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all.
