We're only two months away from hosting the content industry's biggest event. SDL Connect, taking place October 8-10, welcomes customers, partners and industry leaders, giving them a chance to reconnect annually, share ideas and learn from each other how to tackle some of their burgeoning content challenges. Last year’s event hosted 500 delegates from across the globe, and this year we're expecting even more as we explore the future role of AI in content creation, management and delivery.
As part of our planning for this year’s event, we had a look through the feedback left by past attendees– what they enjoyed, what they want to see more of, and what could be tweaked at future events. One thing stood out for us – customers loved the networking opportunities at SDL Connect 2018. And they can’t wait for the chance to spend more time learning from industry peers. As one delegate explained, “It's always good to meet face-to-face with our account manager. But attending SDL Connect really gave me the chance to broaden my relationships. Everyone is open to a conversation, an invaluable opportunity for anyone with questions.”
So, we thought we’d put together a few suggestions on how you can maximize your time at this year’s event:
Meet your peers
“One of the best ways of addressing challenges is to hear from others. Particularly from different industries, who often face the same problems but tackle them in very different ways,” explained one of last year’s delegates. It can’t be underestimated how important it is to learn from others, particularly those who have been through what you’re about to embark on. It could be a transformation, launching in dozens of markets, or simply managing the mountain of data and content you hold. Ample time is made available between sessions, at lunch and in the evenings to ensure you don’t miss out on time to learn from others.
Meet the SDL team
It’s not just a great opportunity to see your SDL account team, but also SDL product experts, client service teams and meet our executives . SDL’s teams work with 90 of the top 100 brands, and bring invaluable experience to complex content challenges. And if you want to dive deeper into a particular topic or product, helpful experts are available. Over 25 breakout sessions and ongoing product demos will ensure you will have plenty of access to the SDL team.
Meet SDL’s Partners
As one delegate explained: "SDL Connect is an excellent way to meet the ecosystem of partners in one place, see the innovation in action and learn how to improve your own efforts through other big scale projects.” Partners including Kaleidoscope, DEPT, DCL, Content Rules, EXLRT and Acrolinx will all be available to discuss their own unique approach content and language challenges.
Meet the speakers
Attendees can expect some of the industry’s brightest minds on stage, sharing ideas and disruptive approaches to traditional problems. This year features Carmen Simon, Founder of Memsy, who will discuss what makes our content truly memorable. And Robert Rose, Chief Strategy Officer, The Content Advisory, will offer insights into how intelligent content delivers immersive customer experiences globally. And if you still have questions or want to discuss a topic in more detail, all speakers are always available after their keynote – and most are available throughout the day.
