Are There Any Fees?
Access to development resources is free. What’s more, for the first six months you can list your application on our site completely free of charge and keep 100% of the revenue (where the application is not free). After six months, there is an annual €100 charge for membership of the scheme to cover security checking and listing of the application and SDL’s royalties become payable. SDL will sell the application and deliver 70% of the revenue achieved to the developer on a monthly basis.
How Is An Application Listed?
SDL is one of the best respected brands in the industry. We do not list applications under our banner lightly – the protection of our loyal customers is paramount. Therefore, once you have an application ready for listing on the SDL OpenExchange site, it becomes subject to our own internal quality assurance process. Once complete, it is eligible for listing on our site.
Can I Sell My Application Elsewhere?
Membership of the scheme with access to all the applicable resources and listing on the SDL OpenExchange site requires that you grant SDL exclusive right to distribute your application.
What APIs Are Available?
We are in the beta phase of this exciting initiative and therefore intend to release APIs in a phased, controlled way.

• Filetype Framework 2.0 CTP (governing custom verifiers, previews and filters)
Coming Soon:
• Project API 2.0
• Translation Provider API 1.0
• SettinsUI API
• Multiterm Desktop API

Will My Applications Work On Later Releases of Studio?
Currently we are in the Beta stage of this initiative. Although we will make every effort to avoid code changes, some may become unavoidable as we continue to develop the product. On the release of the remaining APIs all coding will be frozen.
