Description

This tool allows users to convert SDL XLIFF files into Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word or XML documents for review purposes. The reviewer can do any edits in well-known Microsoft Office applications while the translator can retrofit these edits back into the translated files using SDL Trados Studio 2009. Converted documents can in side-by-side design (similar to the SDL Trados Studio 2009) or in top bottom layout as known from legacy SDL Trados applications.
The tool can also convert SDL XLIFF files into XML documents. These XML documents can be used as a source for custom transformations (transform XML into HTML, PDF or any other required format). As a template for this process you can use DocumentFlowStyle.xslt or SideBySideFlowStyle.xslt transformation files. These files are used for conversion into Microsoft Word and you can freely modify them.

Technical requirements

This tool relies on SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP2 and Microsoft Office 2007 or later. Earlier versions of SDL Trados Studio 2009 or Microsoft Office cannot be used.
