SDL has an alliance with EMC that brings together solutions from EMC’s Content Management & Archiving division (mainly Documentum products) with SDL translation management technologies and services to deliver global information management solutions. Typically SDL works with EMC's Documentum products for document content management, web content management, digital asset management, and workflow products and services.

EMC (www.emc.com) has over $6 billion in sales, and employs over 21,000 people.. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions are part of EMC’s Content Management & Archiving Group (CMA), which yields over $800 million in sales. The core of CMA and the technology that SDL teams with most frequently are the Documentum set of content, compliance, and collaboration solutions that support the way people work, from initial discussion and planning through design, production, marketing, sales, service, and corporate administration.
