SDL International® (London: SDL plc), a leading provider of globalization technology and services, today announced the complete localization of Extensity, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EXTN) suite of applications. The Extensity suite of employee relationship management (ERM) solutions now supports four major European languages to serve the global workforce of multinational companies such as Cisco and Aventis.

With the simultaneous, multiple language release of Extensity Connect into German, French, Spanish and Italian, SDL International once again delivered on another market leader's globalization efforts. Extensity embarked on the localization project to provide solutions to fulfill the needs of their multi-national customers and to extend their global reach.

"As our customers grow and expand worldwide, it is clear that Extensity's suite of applications must support a global workforce," said Elizabeth Ireland, Sr. VP of Marketing of Extensity. "We needed a partner with the linguistic and cultural expertise, worldwide resources, industry experience and technical know-how to help drive our initiative into the international market. SDL provided all this."

"Companies are realizing that to compete in the world arena, they must communicate effectively to a global audience where 92 percent are non-English speakers," stated Mark Lancaster, chairman and CEO of SDL International. "For the last 10 years, SDL has been the first globalization partner of choice for hundreds of market leaders, helping them launch their products, web sites and brands for the first time in multiple languages and across multiple cultures and localities."

About Globalization

Globalization is the process of aligning a company's strategies, processes, and products for sale in international markets. Adapting language, culture, local business rules, and currencies become part of the globalization process. With Europe and Asia set to surpass the United States in Internet use and technology adoption by 2005, globalization is now a business imperative for companies with global growth strategies.
