SDL plc ("SDL International"), the globalisation products and solutions company, today announced a significant new release of their market-leading system for managing Multilingual Website Content - SDLWebFlow 2.0.

SDLWebFlow is developed in a modular architecture, effortlessly facilitating upgrades and adaptions requested from current customers. Version 2.0 has come onto the market in response to SDL International's customers and partners evolving needs.

New functions of SDLWebFlow 2.0 include:

Generic API layer allowing tight integration with partner products
Enhanced Computer Assisted Translation technology incorporating latest functionality from SDLX
Advanced project management and project costing module
Multiple web site content management allowing sites to have own local content providing peer-to-peer information exchange and synchronisation from multiple content feeds
Advanced profiling allowing multiple work flows and rules to be set up for different work flows of information
The latest version of SDLWebFlow includes integration modules with the "V5" system from the market-leading content management company Vignette, as well as those from other leading providers - Interwoven and Mediasurface, and provides the best support for seamless content management of multilingual websites - in over 45 languages.

Acquisition of ToolProof

SDL International also announces the acquisition of ToolProof, a software quality assurance tool.

Designed to allow engineering and test staff to validate the functionality of User Interfaces, ToolProof automatically examines the user interface of Windows applications for errors and stability, improving the speed and accuracy of the verification process.

ToolProof breaks new ground in the multilingual software testing industry as the first commercially-available dynamic user interface verification tool. Unlike other products in this market, which perform static checks, ToolProof carries out dynamic software testing, significantly increasing the user's efficiency.

"ToolProof catches errors caused by dynamic user interface behaviour that the best static inspection tools can't find" said Jon Peck, Vice President Product Development SPSS Inc. "It's a great tool, with a well thought out way of integrating into the Quality Assurance workflow"

Following SDL's recent acquisition of Translation Craft with its quality assurance products, Help QA and HTMLQA, ToolProof adds further strength to SDL's product portfolio, reaffirming its commitment to providing first class globalisation and localisation products and services.

Clients of ToolProof include multinationals such as Novell Inc. SPSS, FileNet and Lexmark International.

Commenting on the launch of SDLWebFlow 2.0 and the acquisition of Toolproof, Keith Mills, Chief Technical Officer of SDL International, commented:

"SDLWebFlow 2.0 is easily integrated into existing SDLWebFlow customer systems and will appeal to a much broader customer base because of its adaptability and facility of use. The acquisition of Toolproof brings essential technology in speeding up the verification process in translation services and complements our existing suite of software products. Both developments provide another step in consolidating our technological lead in globalisation solutions and software."
