Community Technology Preview (CTP) for SDL Tridion 2011

martes, 10 de agosto de 2010

SDL Web Content Management Solutions division has released the Community Technology Preview (CTP) for SDL Tridion 2011. The CTP is a limited availability release for customers and partners. Accompanied by bootcamps in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and San Jose, US, the CTP is aimed at obtaining direct feedback from the SDL community regarding a selection of the new functionality in the SDL Tridion 2011 release.

During the bootcamps, participants received in-depth insight into the nuts and bolts of SDL Tridion 2011 directly from the SDL WCMS Development Lab. Many hands on sessions allowed for direct knowledge exchange and allowed participants to try new concepts out under the guidance of development tutors.  Participants could also provide direct feedback during the sessions and later discuss possible enhancements and improvements that could be adjusted before the Beta release.

The CTP including the unveiling of the new, optimized SDL Tridion user interface, aimed at improving usability.  Over 90% of the participants evaluated the usability improvement as good or excellent.  General feedback was overwhelmingly positive; as CTP participant Mirjam Plante  commented: "The graphical user interface has really been improved, my compliments."

SDL is happy with the large participation at the bootcamp and inspiring feedback on the CTP. During the course of the next two months, all CTP participants will have the chance to test this first release of SDL Tridion 2011 in depth and develop their own extensions and solutions - with a direct line into the SDL WCMS Development Lab.

The Beta version of the release will be available in late October.  Customers interested in participating can sign-up for the beta release of SDL Tridion 2011 until 30th September 2010 via their account manager. The GA version of SDL Tridion 2011 is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2011.
