Keep up to date with the latest products and services from SDL

The website introduces a customer-led approach to product development and reflects the innovation that has always been the driving force behind the SDL TRADOS efforts to maximize value across the translation supply chain. Listening to customer feedback and incorporating it into new products has been and remains a critical step in this process.

“Recent technological developments and trends have opened the possibility of new communication channels with our customers,” comments Argyro Kyriakidou, Marketing Programs Manager. “The web has played a central role in enabling communities of interest to collaborate more effectively than ever before. As a result, we are seeing an explosion of innovation from websites featuring user-generated content. Our site, ideas.sdltrados.com, is designed to serve as a virtual ‘meeting room,’ providing customers with a space to come together to share thoughts and ideas with SDL product management.”

The new portal will give customers the opportunity to make suggestions and vote on product feature requests. It will operate as a forum where customers can suggest the functionality and features they would like to see in SDL products. They will also be able to see the suggestions that have been made by other customers and promote their favorite enhancements.

Argyro adds: “ideas.sdltrados.com will foster an environment of collaboration with SDL TRADOS Technologies, product managers, the development team and other users. As suggestions get voted on, users will be able to preview products that we’re planning to deliver and see in action how customer suggestions help form the product roadmap. This represents a new way to listen to customers who are being invited to participate in shaping our products.”

How it works: On http://ideas.sdltrados.com, customers are able to propose ideas, comment on others and vote for their favorites. As ideas are promoted, their rating increases, allowing SDL TRADOS to rank which suggestions and requests are considered most important by customers. A page will be maintained to view how the Product Development team is acting on the suggestions.

1) Submit an Idea All SDL TRADOS customers are automatically members of http://ideas.sdltrados.com. Using the same login details from his SDL account, a customer can select from different categories to submit an idea, drilling into product components in detail. Or they can select to comment on the ideas.sdltrados.com website itself and provide suggestions for its improvement.

2) Promote Promotion is a crucial aspect of the http://ideas.sdltrados.com. When ideas get a high vote, this means that they are liked and conceptually sound. The more popular an idea is, the higher it is promoted on the site and the higher the likelihood it will be addressed by SDL TRADOS Product Management for inclusion in future releases. Comments can also be added to each idea to generate further discussions within the community.

3) Review The SDL TRADOS Technologies team will constantly be reviewing the suggestions submitted for serious consideration when planning future releases. On occasion, members of the SDL TRADOS Product Management team may participate in the dialogue of an ongoing discussion or ask for input on an idea of their own.

Please visit http://ideas.sdltrados.com to submit your ideas and shape the future of SDL TRADOS products today.
