English to German Translation Line Manager - Munich
SDL International is one of the world's leading providers of translation and localization services to the IT, multimedia and automotive industries. We are currently looking for English-to-German Translation Line Manager (i.e. team leader) to join our growing in-house team in Munich, Germany, on a permanent basis.
The role involves overseeing production (internal and external translation and review) of various materials to translate in different subject matters.For this challenging role, SDL is looking for a motivated and committed overseer of production, and manager of people with a linguistic background, who is eager to actively contribute to our office expansion.
Skills & Experience:
- Native (or genuine bi-lingual) competency in the target language of German
- Very strong linguistic background, ideally from the translation/publishing industries
- Experience with Translation Memory tools (SDLX/Trados) would be a distinct advantage
- Very high level of fluency in English (preferred over knowledge of several source languages)
- 6 months to 4 years experience of production/people management (more senior candidate preferred)
- Ability to run production through others and co-manage schedule and budget
- Highly organized, flexible and able to work successfully in a very fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Well versed in escalation procedures, view for the high level, solution-orientated and enjoy taking responsibility
- Excellent communication skills and work well under pressure
