Applications Engineer - Professional Services - Stuttgart

SDL’s Professional Services Applications Engineers are responsible for designing and creating application customizations and integrations needed to make SDL solutions successful in enterprise application environments.

The Applications Engineer works closely with both the customer and the services team to evaluate needs and to design and implement a solution that will meet those needs. You will be required to ensure customer satisfaction through effective delivery of professional services custom programming and deliver outstanding customer service. Consult with customers on implementation and maintenance of customisations to core SDL Technology products.

To be considered you will currently be in a development or customisation role within software or IT based company or just completed a degree in an equivalent role in computer development/solution design. You must have working knowledge with at least one of the following business areas:

  • Content Management systems and processes,
  • Localisation process,
  • Development lifecycle, including methodologies such as waterfall, AGILE or RUP.
  • Ideally the candidate will have an understanding the following technologies: Internet Technologies, IIS/Apache, Windows Operating systems, XML, RDBMS Technology, and Virtualization.
  • Required in-depth knowledge of the two or more following: XML, XSL, PERL or other scripting language, UNIX (Linux and/or Solaris) administration, Microsoft Windows XP / 2003 Server, MS SQL Server 2000 or above, Oracle version 8 or above, MySQL or .NET (preferably C#).
  • The tools below are typically used by an Applications Engineer in the fulfilment of their role in SDL Professional Services: MS Project, MS Visio, MS Team Foundation, MS Office Suite, and Test Track Pro.
  • This person must have the ability to travel to the following countries: United Kingdom, USA, Germany, Holland, Belgium, other EU countries.
  • Candidate must be fluent in German and English.
