SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, has announced increased momentum behind the SDL Language Service Provider (LSP) Partner Program, with over 50 companies having joined since the introduction of the program in June 2008.
The SDL LSP Partner Program has seen explosive growth, as LSPs across the world are taking advantage of the program’s numerous commercial and technology benefits. A key area of value for LSP partners has been receiving early access to SDL Trados® Studio 2009 before its official release and providing direct input into its development through http://ideas.sdltrados.com. LSPs around the globe are finding that partnering with an established and financially stable company such as SDL is proving to be a key strategy in current economic times. This approach is helping more and more translation companies find new ways to grow their revenue without increasing their overheads.
Hans Pich, Business Development Manager at Document Service Center GmbH speaks of his experience with the software from his participation in the beta program: "The new SDL Trados Studio 2009 is a milestone in the development of computer-assisted translation software. The developers have responded directly to the needs of users by offering innovative solutions such as the AutoSuggest™ feature, which provides sub-segment matches, and the re-designed user interface. By integrating the individual applications into a single program, SDL Trados Studio 2009 offers unprecedented flexibility while retaining its intuitive usability. This will allow us to implement individual project workflows more efficiently, which in turn will boost our productivity."
Steve Wilde, Managing Director of The Translation People commented on the partnership, "We are already experiencing many benefits from our partnership with the global leader in GIM technology, by having access to new technology like SDL Trados Studio 2009 before its release and participating jointly in marketing opportunities with SDL TRADOS Technologies. This gives us exposure to the large SDL user base, helping to provide additional sources of revenue for us." The Translation People are an Advantage Plus Partner.
Craig Buckstein, Chief Operating Officer at US-based Geneva Worldwide, an Associate level SDL LSP partner says, “Geneva Worldwide is already seeing tangible benefits across the board resulting in increased efficiencies with our translation processes.
