What is the SDL Certification program?

The SDL Certification Program is the industry’s premier technology based certification which provides a recognized standard of excellence in SDL software knowledge. It’s a comprehensive professional education program designed to develop and validate expertise in the use of SDL translation technology tools.

The SDL Certification program is designed to help educate the SDL user community on the latest technological developments and best practices in translation technology, terminology management and automated quality assurance checks.

There are different SDL Certification options for Translators and Project Managers for either SDL Trados Studio 2009 and SDL MultiTerm 2009.

There are 3 levels of Certification exams and training offered to Translators for SDL Trados Studio 2009:

Level 1 CertificationLevel 2 CertificationLevel 3 Certification

Achievement of Level 1 Certification shows understanding of the basic translation functions of SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Achievement of Level 2 Certification demonstrates proficiency in enhanced software functionality.

Achievement of Level 3 Certification confirms super-user knowledge of SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Level 1 Certification is supported by Getting Started for Translators Training:

SDL MultiTerm 2009 for Translators

There is 1 level of certification for Translators offered in SDL MultiTerm 2009.  

Achievement of Certification in SDL MuliTerm proves a sound understanding of the features and functionality of SDL MultiTerm 2009.

This Certification is supported by SDL MultiTerm 2009 for Translators Training.

SDL Certification options available for Project Managers

There is 1 level of certification for Project Managers in SDL Trados Studio 2009:

Achievement of SDL Trados Studio Project Manager Certification demonstrates expert level understanding of the  project management functionality of SDL Trados Studio 2009.

This Certification is supported by SDL Trados Studio 2009 for Project Managers Training. 

SDL MultiTerm 2009 for Project Managers

There is 1 level of certification offered for Project Managers in SDL MultiTerm 2009.  

Achievement of Certification in SDL MuliTerm proves a sound understanding of the features and functionality of SDL MultiTerm 2009 within a project management environment.

This Certification is supported by SDL MultiTerm 2009 for Project Managers Training.

What do I receive?
What are the requirements to get your team started with SDL Certification?
  1. Own a legal, company-registered license(s) of SDL Trados Studio 2009.
  2. Study / Prepare to pass the suggested level - SDL Approved Training courses will help you prepare for certification. 
  3. On successful completion of the each exam will award SDL Certification for the corresponding level. You will also receive a link to download a certification logo that can be displayed in your email signature or on your website.
