Content and Language Executive Forum

Event Type: Webinar
Date: 19 November 2009
From:  16:00 to 18:00 Western European Summer Time (GMT +1:00) London, Lisbon, Dublin

As a business director in a global organization, you are likely facing the challenge of increasing amounts of content and the need to provide that information in the language of the customer.

SDL is organizing an interactive forum-style executive webinar series in order to create an online networking opportunity for discussing issues concerning content and language.  The first event is around the strategic implications of applying automated translation in the enterprise. It is designed for senior managers/directors within global organizations across support, technical documentation and localization.  Please note that space will be limited and only a limited number of people per company may attend, to ensure open discussion is possible.  Please come along to this open discussion with your questions and concerns around using automated translation in your organization.

Times:

The event will be hosted using WebEx, so no travel costs will be involved.  Please keep about 1.5 to 2 hours available in your calendar so that the discussion can progress as desired.
  • 16:00 to 18:00 UK Time

  • 11:00 to 13:00 Eastern Time

  • 08:00 to 10:00 Pacific Time

Confirmed Panelists:

The forum will be made up of a panel of industry representatives including machine translation experts and businesses that have adopted automated translation.  They will each do a brief introduction to their views and experiences on automated translation in the business. Attendees will then be encouraged to ask questions and raise discussion points during the webinar and will be redirected to an SDL forum page to continue their discussions and networking after the event. Panelists include:

  • Mark Lancaster - SDL

  • Mary LaPlante - The Gilbane Group

  • Mike Dillinger – Independent Consultant

  • Jean-Pierre Oorlynck - CNH
