SDL Trados 2007 SP2 allows you to work with powerful SDL Package technology. The SDL Package is an all-in-one project file which is easy to create, send and open through the Translation Supply Chain. It contains all the necessary information, files and settings to translate a project quickly and accurately:

  • Quality - Package your project with the right settings and correct information. Within the SDL Package environment translators have everything they need and they can immediately start working. The result is minimum queries and high quality translations. Automated batch quality assurance checks further accelerate accurate translated content delivery.

  • Speed and ease of use - One quick wizard allows to compile all the file and information necessary for the succesful execution of a multi-lingual translation project. Nothing is left behind, projects are prepared in half of the time and queries minimized.

  • Organization - SDL Package enables project analysis, scheduling and tracking all available through a simple dahsboard view.

SDL Trados 2007 offers the best of both worlds, with the choice of Trados Translator's Workbench, Tag Editor and SDLX editing environments. Integration with SDL MultiTerm provides powerful terminology lookup and search functions to ensure adherence to corporate terminology and dramatically reduce translation time.

More Information

SDL Trados 2007 captures your teams' translations as they work, building a linguistic database (the translation memory or TM). From this database, the software identifies reusable content. When a translator works on new content and encounters a sentence similar or identical to an already-translated sentence, the software automatically proposes reuse suggestions.

As a result, no translator ever needs to translate the same sentence twice. Your translators can reuse what they have translated as often as they want. The more your teams build your translation memory, the faster they can translate subsequent projects and the more time they will have for the more creative aspects of their work.

System Requirements

SDL Trados 2007 runs on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server. Windows Vista or Windows XP is recommended for optimum performance.

PC with Pentium III or compatible processor (Pentium IV or higher recommended).
512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended) on Windows 2000/Windows XP Home/Windows XP Professional/Windows Vista.

* When accessing SDL Translator's Workbench 8.x from within Microsoft Word 2007, performance issues may occur that cause slow navigation from segment to segment when using the Set/Close Next Open/Get or Translate to Fuzzy commands. SDL has escalated this issue to Microsoft who have confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 2007. As a workaround until a fix is available, SDL recommends using Microsoft Word 2003 or translating Microsoft Word .doc and .docx files in SDL Trados TagEditor. SDL will inform the SDL Trados 2007 user base when a fix is available from Microsoft.

** QuarkXPress 7 files, including Unicode encoded files, are now full supported in both SDL Trados and SDLX through the third-party application CopyFlow from Napsys.
