CoDesCo has developed filter to export content of QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign documents into SDL Trados compatible formats. After the translation is done, the translated text can be re-imported into the original files (Xpress/InDesign) retaining all formats. As a result, there is nearly no longer a need to spend manual work for re-formatting the layout files.

After translation the text can be reimported into the output format. Thereby all formattings of the origin layout document will remain unaltered!

CoDesCo Translationtechnologies and –solutions
With the product „ex Translationfilter“, CoDesCo offers a softwaresolution for the optimization of the translationworkflow of QuarkXPress 7+8 and Adobe InDesign CS3, CS4, CS5 layoutdocuments. The software runs on the Macintosh as well as the Windows operating system.

ex TranslationFilter allows the segmented export of text- and table-content out of a layoutdocument into the .xliff or .doc file format. In this format the document can be edited by the translator without having the origin layout software installed on his computer. The transferred .xliff-file can be imported by the translator into the tm-system and edited with all functionalities of the used tms. If no tm-system is available the exported text can be also edited in Microsoft Word. After the translation is done ex TranslationFilter reimports the translated text in the origin layout fileformat. Thereby all origin formattings of the layoutdocument will remain unaltered! Time consuming manual rework on the layoutdocument is obsolete after the re-import of the translated text!
