SAP Selects SDL WorldServer to Expand Global Information Management Infrastructure

SDL WorldServer workflow and project management features automate localization processes and increase capacity to address growing translation initiatives

SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions today announced that SAP has adopted SDL WorldServer™ in its language services operation.  SDL WorldServer was selected for its robust and flexible workflow and project management capabilities and its ability to integrate with SAP’s existing translation portal environment which includes SDL TM Server™.

SAP already relies on SDL TM Server technology and the SDL Language Services division to manage and support the company’s vast multilingual requirements for its content.  The addition of SDL WorldServer provides scalability, agility and quality assurance by automating and tracking translation projects from creation through completion for new emerging content within SAP, including marketing content and new translation streams.

“As a global company with customers, partners and sales and development offices in more than 120 countries, we constantly generate new content that needs to be localized with the same efficiency as our product content. We therefore had to augment our existing translation portal environment with a workflow solution that would streamline our end-to-end translation process for new content,” said Heinz Lueken, Vice President Language Services at SAP.  “With the implementation of SDL WorldServer, we will improve efficiency in our translation process, thereby enabling us to handle more translation projects with the same number of staff.”

"We are excited that SAP selected SDL WorldServer to help them execute their globalization strategy and meet new immediate translation requirements,” said Alan Sloan, CEO of the SDL Language Technologies division.  "This further validates our vision of providing best-of-breed Global Information Management solutions for creating and managing global content.”
