SDL Tridion today announces that it has been listed as a Web Content Management leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Web Content Management for the strong multisite management, the multilingual and multichannel capabilities of the current SDL Tridion 2009 version through its integration of SDL technology in the WCM offering.

In 2008, the Gartner MarketScope was created to describe the competitive landscape for providers of Web Content Management (WCM) solutions. The dynamic evolution of this industry over the past year has led to another Magic Quadrant being produced. In this year’s, a WCM leader is recognized for its ability to drive market transformation, while also having strong channel partners, a presence in multiple regions, consistent financial performance, broad platform support and good customer support.

Ultimately, leaders have the highest combined scores for “Ability to Execute” and “Completeness of Vision”. These vendors are successful and experiencing sustained growth across several vertical markets, as well as being prepared for the future with a clearly articulated vision.

“Gartner’s conclusion is completely in line with the Global Information Management strategy of the entire SDL Group,” said Jan Jaap Kolleman, CEO of SDL Tridion. “We believe global organizations need integrated content and language technologies in order to achieve accelerated time-to-market for product launches and marketing campaigns.”

The Gartner report further asserts that: “SDL Tridion's multisite management continues to be strong, as are the multilingual and multichannel capabilities of the current SDL Tridion 2009 version through its integration of SDL technology in the WCM offering. The XML basis – from Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) in SDL Trisoft to delivery in SDL Tridion – is central to its overall strategy, and componentized dynamic content is a core competency.”

Jan Jaap Kolleman; “Gartner's analysis of the WCM market and its listing of SDL Tridion as a leader recognizes our proven strategy and vision in developing a complete end-to-end solution for global customer engagement. We allow marketers to create and deploy fully integrated campaigns incorporating customer management and interaction, multi-channel marketing and Web Content Management. Tight integration with SDL Translation Management System™ creates a powerful, easy-to-use solution for marketers to communicate with and sell to a global audience.”
