Subsequent to the acquisition of Alpnet by SDL International, Charles Noall has been appointed a Group Divisional Director, with responsibility for the Canadian and German operations of the combined business, as well as account management of key accounts.

Having enjoyed over 20 years of experience in the European technical information management industry, Charles joined Alpnet in 1998 and held several senior management positions before being appointed Chief Operating Officer in February 2001.

Prior to joining Alpnet, Charles was managing director of Stork TPS, a Netherlands–based industrial information consulting and translation services business, and provider of high-end SGML publishing solutions. Alpnet subsequently acquired this company in 1999.

"SDL has become one of the world's largest localisation solution providers", said Charles, "and I am particularly pleased to play an important role within the management team of the company that delivers the most innovative range of software support technology available in our industry today."

"SDL is delighted to have Charles on-board," said SDL's CEO, Mark Lancaster. "His knowledge of the Alpnet organisation will ensure a fast start to the successful integration of the two companies, and his industry knowledge will help to maintain our focus on delivering successful solutions to our clients' localisation needs."
