SDL International, a leading provider of globalization products and services, today announced the sale of over 30 SDLX licenses to translations.com, a pioneer and leader in the Internet globalization services market.

SDLX is an advanced Translation Memory tool developed by SDL International to assist translators and project managers in translating accurately and quickly. SDLX greatly improves the translator's speed quality and consistency by allowing the re-use of previously translated phrases and terms. Providing a fully integrated and cost effective solution for translators, SMEs and in-house translation departments, SDLX is already employed by a wide variety of companies including the BBC, FileNet and Eidos.

Today's news coincides with the launch of SDLX version 3.5, which boasts additional features making translations into any language even easier and more accurate. SDL's industry standard quality assurance tool, HelpQA, has also been updated to further reduce resources and time required to identify and correct common errors which occur during the translation and localization process.

Commenting on the deal, translations.com's chief operating officer, Roy Trujillo, said: "SDLX is a fast, robust and reliable tool which increases our manual translation efficiency and enables faster turn around times. Exceptional user friendliness of the SDLX interface and the extensive features offered by this tool provide excellent value for the money with no compromise on quality."

"We are delighted to provide translations.com with SDLX," added Keith Mills, chief technical officer of SDL International. "Translations.com is an established leader in the globalization and localization business and the trust they have in the SDLX Translation Memory solution is a real statement about the quality of the product."

With more and more new Internet users preferring to communicate in a language other than English, enterprise companies wishing to capitalize on international market opportunities are looking to companies like SDL International and translations.com to help them bridge the Internet language divide. SDL International is well positioned to take full advantage of this growing market - enabling companies to break down language and cultural barriers, and sell their products world-wide.
