Mr Lancaster founded SDL in 1992 having identified the need for a high level service provider for the globalization of software. He was a founder director of LISA, the Localization Industry Standards Association, with which he continues his involvement.
He graduated with an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Mr Lancaster was employed as a design engineer at Satchwell Control Systems. He then progressed his career as a project manager at Lotus Development Corporation and later was the international development director with Ashton-Tate. He is responsible for the strategic development of SDL.
Mr Gordon is a qualified Chartered Accountant and joined SDL in 1998. He spent thirteen years with Arthur Andersen, specializing in corporate finance and venture capital and ten years with Berisford plc, the last three of which he was chief financial officer for the US Operations.
Mr. Mills joined SDL in 1994. Previously he held senior positions with Lotus Corporation, where he specialized in the processes of software localization before moving to Ashton-Tate to manage their international software translation group. Before joining SDL, Mr. Mills was Software Localization Engineering Manager at the relational database specialist, Informix Inc. Mr. Mills is responsible for SDL's complete technology portfolio.
Ms Lancaster is an experienced software engineer who previously worked as a senior support analyst at Lotus Development before establishing an IT training and consultancy business in 1990.
She joined SDL in 1993 and has responsibility for the process, management and strategic consistency throughout all the Company's divisions and the management of the overseas operations of the Group.
Mr Campbell was CEO of TRADOS, Inc., and following its acquisition by SDL, he has joined the SDL board as a non-executive director. He adds a considerable level of expertise in enterprise software sales and US market knowledge.
Mr Campbell also brings years of experience with the US financial markets and M&A activity. Most recently, prior to TRADOS, he was COO of iManage, a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ. In his tenure, he helped lead the company in obtaining significant growth in revenue, profit and shareholder value, which ultimately lead to the sale to Interwoven.
Mr Batterham is a qualified Chartered Accountant with significant experience in the IT sector.
Having qualified with Arthur Andersen, he worked for a variety of businesses before joining Unipalm Group plc (now UUNET) as Group Finance Director in 1993. He was involved in the flotation of Unipalm on the London Stock Exchange, and following the acquisition of UUNET by Worldcom he became international development director. He was appointed to the board of SDL on 15 October 1999.
