SDL, (LSE: SDL) the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions, announced today the availability of enhanced Business Rules Exchange (BREX) data module validation with SDL Contenta S1000D, an industry leading S1000D Common Source Database (CSDB). SDL Contenta® S1000D provides enhanced BREX data module support with an integrated, unified, and intuitive user interface for the validation of data modules in either a standard or layered BREX environment.
BREX data modules hold quality assurance and compliance requirements for the S1000D CSDB to validate data modules within a project. Layered BREX data modules are used to further restrict business rules defined at a higher level within the layered BREX structure.
SDL Contenta S1000D CSDB offers enhanced BREX validation reporting to highlight compliant and non-compliant data modules, identify business rules needing visual examination to validate, and report business rule violations and syntax errors to aid the BREX analyst with the nuances of the specification.
“SDL’s enhanced BREX validation introduces the industry’s most comprehensive layered BREX support, providing BREX analysts with increased flexibility when writing business rules and technical writers with the added assurance that they’re creating information that is compliant with the business rules defined for the project”, said Kevin Duffy, CEO of SDL’s Structured Content Technologies. “SDL’s enhanced validation reporting is also critically important to defense contractors who are required to certify contractual compliance of S1000D deliverables to their government customers,” Duffy continued.
SDL is presenting a three part webinar series on business rules starting with a webinar on February 15 entitled, “What are Business Rules.” This series presents the differences between BREX data modules and authored business rules used by development and authoring teams. Each one hour webinar explores specific processes and how they can be leveraged to facilitate the successful implementation of an S1000D project within any business. Document examples, templates, and a BREX building tool will be provided to all attendees. To register for the first webinar in the, visit www.sdl.com/en/xml/events or click here.
