Supporting The Zonnehuizen Foundation

This charity proposed by SDL Hengelo provides professional treatment, care and education to children and youths with psychiatric problems and/or mental handicaps.
The Zonnehuizen Foundation

As part of this program, the foundation runs a farm where the children and youths can stay to receive the support that they need. The renovated building that SDL Foundation contributed to will be used for the purpose of teaching patients about the care for and importance of the environment and animals.

"The greenhouse operates to complete satisfaction! Young people are working there every day, the vegetables are growing very well in the humid climate. The young people can work in a well organised manner in this greenhouse. Some of them have their own 'piece of land' which is shown by a nameplate. In this way they are responsible for their own bed of vegetables. This also adds to their success experience. The greenhouse also comes in very handy when the weather is bad because they can go inside for greenhouse and tool maintenance." Zonnehuizen Foundation.
