In a word: manuals. In this space, they run the gamut from SGML documents in automotive standards to DITA, and from glove box manuals to operating manuals for custom trucks, all of which require translation.

Solutions

SDL Contenta, SDL XPP, and SDL Trisoft feature prominently is various solutions deployed across the customer base. One of our more innovative solutions is deployed at Freightliner—a Daimler company. Freightliner trucks are sold in custom configurations, where selections of, say, a transmission dictate compatible selections elsewhere, and the assembled vehicle must meet weight constraints and get priced out. Before SDL Contenta and XPP, it could take weeks after a truck was sold for the documentation to get shipped. SDL technology allows for the documentation to be delivered along with the vehicle.
