SDL plc (London Stock Exchange:'SDL'), one of the largest providers of multilingual management solutions, announced today that it is to deliver a substantial contract worth over half a million dollars US, to author service information for production components on the NH90 helicopter.

Stork Aerospace (formerly Fokker Aerostructures in the Netherlands), specializes in designing, developing, manufacturing and supporting structural airframe components, assemblies and systems of commercial and military aircraft and helicopters. The company is also part of NH Industries, the consortium chosen by France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands to build the NH90 helicopter. This project has a value to Stork Aerospace (including 2 Dutch partners) of approximately EUR 210 million, and includes the supply of complete tail sections, doors and landing gears for all 253 helicopters to be built (including export to Portugal). Stork Aerospace has chosen SDL to produce the multilingual service information for these components.

"The NH90 helicopter contract is very strategic for us, and we want to bring on board solid partners who can get things done efficiently and reliably," comments Ab Brouwer, Integrated Logistic Support Manager at Stork Aerospace B.V. "To author the service information for our components, we were looking for a proven supplier, familiar with our industry and working methods. We chose SDL because they have solid experience in producing aerospace and defence documentation, in particular when it comes to AECMA Spec 1000D, an international standard for aerospace technical publications. Also, having previously worked with the company, we were very pleased with their dedication and the quality of their services."

"At SDL, we make it a priority to build long-term relationships, based on mutual trust with our clients," notes Dominic Kinnon, Group Divisional Director of SDL. "We are very glad that Stork Aerospace is looking to SDL for such a key project. The nature of the contract also illustrates the breadth of SDL's expertise. We are much more than a simple localization services company, offering solutions that span the entire information process, from content creation to publishing, including overall multilingual information management."
