SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions today announced the expansion of its North American operation with the addition of a language services production office in San Jose, California.
Situated within the San Francisco Bay area, the production office is being set up to support growing localization needs on the West Coast of America, providing high-quality language services to SDL’s extensive local, blue chip customer base. The demand for a dedicated local presence has come from Silicon Valley’s widespread adoption of SDL’s innovative solutions for Global Information Management, including intelligent Machine Translation (iMT), an end-to-end solution combining customized machine translation with highly-skilled post-editors for the highest quality publishable output.
The San Jose location will meet growing demand by providing project management resource as a single point of contact for SDL’s global infrastructure of over 800 in-house, in-country translators and its complete range of language services including translation, post-editing, multimedia localization, international testing, terminology management and globalization consultancy.
“The San Jose office is an exciting addition to SDL’s expanding network of localization offices. We are seeing significant growth in this region and the opening of a new office reflects SDL’s commitment to helping its customers increase global communication and strengthen International market presence,” comments Peter Smith, Senior VP of Operations and Strategic Accounts, Language Services division.
Susanne LeGier will head up the division as San Jose Business Unit Director, Language Services division. Susanne will be moving from SDL’s Stuttgart Division where she most recently held the position of Operations Manager for the Language Services division.
