SDL, the leading provider of Global Information Management (GIM) solutions, announced today that Kyocera Mita is accelerating the time–to-market for its products by 30% using SDL technology.

With SDL MultiTerm enabling intelligent terminology management in more than 20 languages, this leading Japanese document management company aims to reduce the end-to-end localization costs by 40% over the next fiscal year and increase translation productivity by 30%, all while maintaining a consistent global brand identity in any market.

“SDL MultiTerm is the ‘de facto’ industry standard for terminology management,” says Katsumi Horiguchi, Senior Manager for Technology Publications, Kyocera Mita.  SDL MultiTerm is increasing our speed-to-market and business agility. With more intuitive functionality and a higher deployment rate among translation professionals, projects occur faster while delivering more accuracy.”

The company has deployed SDL MultiTerm in its Japanese office via an Internet browser, delivering concept-based intelligent terminology management to support all products. The system provides access to centralized corporate terminology, with powerful searching methodologies enabling fast term look-ups. With consistent terminology available, Kyocera Mita is able to produce more than 30 product manuals every year in more than 20 languages 30% faster than before. Further, the company has experienced significant growth over the last few years and estimates that without SDL MultiTerm, their end-to-end localization costs would have been significantly higher.
